X Factor winner Matt Terry has finally signed a record deal – and it isn’t with Simon Cowell.
Breaking away from the tradition of victors signing with the judge’s firm Syco, Matt revealed he has instead joined Sony’s RCA Label Group.
He’ll be joining the books alongside Paloma Faith, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and former X Factor runner-up Olly Murs.

According to The Sun, the decision was mutual between Simon and Sony, with a source revealing that the two sides: “Believe that Matt is very much an artist in the mould of Olly Murs.”
The Bromley singer has been launched head first into a busy schedule since his victory on Sunday, with his festive single When Christmas Comes Around – penned by Ed Sheeran – already on its way to a possible number one.
As well as daily radio appearances and events through the holidays, he will be on screens on Christmas Day as a guest on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show.
