But The Sun has reported that the Strictly curse has hit, and this time the victims are much-loved pro dancer Gorka Marquez and his fiancee, Glaswegian dancer Lauren Sheridan.

According to the article, the split may have even happened on the night Gorka was reportedly attacked as the show spent the weekend in Blackpool.

This year marked Gorka’s first time as a dancer on the show and, although he and partner Tameka Empson were eliminated from the competition in week three, he has quickly become a familiar face supporting the remaining contestants as a backing dancer.

He and Lauren got engaged this summer, but social media accounts in their names show no trace of them together.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying: “Gorka and Lauren aren’t together anymore.

“They were very loved-up but it has come to an end quite fast.”

Describing both parties as “very upset”, the source added: “Nobody saw this coming, and it’s a big shock for their friends and family who thought they were a great match.”
