The highest rent along the Dublin city travel infrastructure is close to the Spencer Dock Luas red line stop in the city centre costing on average €1,920.

Dublin commuters living on the Luas green line pay on average €1553 a month in rent according to a new DART & Luas Rental Map launched by Daft.ie.

The map highlights the most expensive areas to rent along the DART and Luas tracks in the capital.

On average, the rental cost of living close to a DART station is €1,530 while renters living close to the Luas green line extensions pay €1,442.

For renters living on the Luas red line the average is €1,357, however the highest rent for any stop or station is the Luas red line stop Spencer Dock where people pay €1,920 monthly.

Commuters close to the coast also quite expensive with DART stops Sandymount costing on average €1,908 and Dalkey stop €1,856.

On the Luas green line homes close to Milltown hold the highest rents for that line costing €1,624 while city centre stops on the Luas red line were most expensive at George’s Dock €1,770 and the aformention Spencer Dock at €1,920.

Commenting on the DART & Luas rental map, Martin Clancy from Daft.ie said: “As seen in our DART & Luas House Price map; convenience and affordability are two key concerns for nearly everyone who lives and works in Dublin.”

Author of the Daft.ie Report Ronan Lyons said: “The figures in the infographic released today highlight the value of rail infrastructure, with rents for properties closer to stations above those for comparable properties elsewhere.”

The figures shown are average rents for 2 bed apartment controlling for time, size and type for each of the stations on the DART & Luas lines. The sample of over 16,000 properties for rent comes from the period between January and November 2016
