Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Danny Mac has revealed he is skilled in more than just dancing as he has contributed a unique hand-drawn piece of artwork for a charity auction.

Danny, along with 17 other celebrities, has donated a doodle that is being sold during Cats Protection’s Celebrity Paws auction.

The 28-year-old actor’s design includes an outline of his hand encasing a simple sketch of a cat on the palm, along with paw prints, a food shopping list, a note to “call home”, an unfinished game of noughts and crosses and music notes.

The intricate piece also includes two animal-inspired quotes, one from French poet Anatole France and another from Mahatma Gandhi.

The France quote reads: “Until one has loved an animal a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”

The Gandhi quote reads: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

Cat Jarvis, of Cats Protection, said: “Danny’s Celebrity Paw doodle shows just how much he loves cats and animals.

“We’re incredibly grateful to all the celebrities that have taken the time get involved with this year’s auction to help us provide vital care for cats in need.”

Danny – who was thwarted in his bid for the Strictly glitterball trophy by sports presenter Ore Oduba – joins the likes of musical theatre veteran Elaine Paige, soap actress Gemma Atkinson and reality TV star Joey Essex in donating a design for the charity sale.

Each of the stars has etched a “paw print” drawing based around their own hand and personal style.

The auction is live and those wishing to purchase one of the 18 celebrity pieces for Cats Protection – the UK’s leading feline welfare charity – can do so via the official website until Monday evening.
