A man is due in court this afternoon over a stabbing in County Offaly yesterday.

The 21-year-old is facing charges after another man in his 20s was found seriously hurt in a housing estate in Birr.

He was taken to hospital where he condition is described as critical.

A man arrested close to the scene will appear in the CCJ in Dublin at 2pm.
