Detector dog Alfie

OVER €32,500 worth of cigarettes was seized by Revenue Officers at Rosslare Europort recently, thanks to the assistance of detector dog Alfie.

The approximately 60,000 cigarettes were found concealed throughout two cars when the vehicles were stopped and searched as they disembarked a ferry from Cherbourg, France.

The contraband cigarettes, branded ‘L&M’ and ‘NZ Superslim Gold’, were also found in a large metal container.
