ONE OF New Ross town’s most successful sports-people went back to his old club recently to spend time with members of its underage section.

Greg Bolger captained Cork City to the FAI Cup last year and it was no more than the talented young soccer player deserved.

Having started his career with New Ross Celtic A.F.C. he went on to star with Wexford Youths, UCD, Dundalk, St. Patrick’s Athletic, and more recently Cork City.

Along the way he also got selected for the Irish U23 squad against England.

However, he took time out from his very busy schedule recently to return to New Ross Celtic and meet with some of the club’s U9 squad who were delighted to see him.

He also brought with him the FAI cup which caused great excitement among the young players.

In addition to posing for photographs and signing autographs Mr. Bolger also took delight in playing against some of the young players offering them tips and advice.

He also answered questions posed to him about his career and the game in general.

The club expressed gratitude to the footballer for spending time with the kids and wished him the best of luck with his coming season.
