John Kennedy who died in a farm accident near Coolgreany.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for John Kennedy, (28), of Askinch, Coolgreany, who died in an accident involving a quad bike on the family farm at Moneyribbon, Coolgreany, on Wednesday morning.

Mr Kennedy was rounding up cows for milking when his quad bike went into a dyke full of water and, although not confirmed, it is believed Mr Kennedy may have drowned.

Mr Kennedy returned from Australia last year and took up employment in Cork and he also played GAA with Castletown club.

He is reposing at his parent’s home at Askinch, Coolgreany. Removal on Saturday, March 18, after prayers at 1 pm to St David’s Church, Johnstown for Funeral Mass at 2 pm with burial afterwards in Ballyfad Cemetery. R.I.P.

The planned Coolgreany St Patrick’s Day Parade and the Wicklow Hunt horse trials have been cancelled as a mark of respect for the Kennedy family.
