The route for Gorey’s St Patrick’s day Parade which gets under way at 3 pm.

The annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Gorey commences at 3 pm using the new Link Road from the Carnew Road, Hollyfort Road and Fort Road.

There are no road closures but diversions will be in place whilst the parade is moving down past the Monument, McCurtain Street, Main Street and dispersing after the Review Stand on Esmonde Street.

Grand Marshal this year are The Friends of Gorey District Hospital who were selected for this honour in special recognition of their 20th anniversary.

There will be a strong musical presence during this year’s parade with Gorey Pipe Band, Tallaght Vikings Youth Band, Sonna Samba, Bloco Gorman, St Kevin’s Band and Brazilian group Maracatu Alcateia.

Carnew St Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 1 pm and the Grand Marshal this year is local community activist, Edward Dowse.

A number of vintage tractors will join with community and sporting organisations on the parade through the Main Street.

The Coolgreany St Patrick’s Day Parade has been cancelled as a mark of respect following the tragic death of John Kennedy on his farm last Wednesday.
