The Island Hunt is staging its first point-to-point races in three years over a new track at Ounavarra, near Courtown, next Sunday, with the first of six races off at 2 pm.
For visitors exit the M11 off junction 23 and follow signposts for Courtown. The course will be signposted from there.
It is a left-handed track of one mile and three furlongs, with the three mile races taking place over approximately two and a half circuits.
A total of 14 fences are jumped, four fences on the opening circuit and five fences in each of the remaining two laps.
The track is a stiff galloping track with a gentle uphill climb over the final three fences which are located in the home straight.
The ground is currently described as ‘Yielding’.
Entries close tomorrow (Tuesday).
