DoneDeal Founder Fred Karlsson is set to speak at this weekend’s Community Conference

UP TO two hundred community activists are expected to descend on Riverbank House Hotel this Saturday, April 8th, for Wexford Local Development’s (WLD) Community Conference.

Minister of State for Communities and the National Drugs Strategy, Catherine Byrne, TD is set to address all in attendance at the event which begins at 9:30am.

Also featuring on the line-up for the event, which will focus on community participation, are DoneDeal Founder Fred Karlsson and social researcher Brian Harvey.

Delegates will have a chance to discuss the benefits of community involvement, the positive impacts on participation in local communities and local development in Ireland today.

WLD recognises the vital impact which local groups are having on a daily basis on building social cohesion, developing pride and confidence in their communities and improving opportunities for local people.
