The former Wexford Cineplex premises, Redmond Road.

THE APPROACH road to Wexford town may soon be set for a welcome face lift, with the vacant former Cineplex and adjoining units having sold to a private purchaser for in excess of €2.25m.

Selling agents Cushman & Wakefield confirmed the sale of the significant Redmond Road Shopping Centre development, which comprises of the former Cineplex unit, adjoining car park and 14 retail units.

A unit at 48 North Main Street, comprising of 1,535 sq. ft. first-floor office space accessible from the Bull Ring, was also included in the sale.

In a vote of confidence in the town and its economy and future, the lot attracted strong interest while on the market and sold for in excess of its guide price.

This significant sale is set to see the area provided with welcome rejuvenation.
