THE GARDAI in New Ross are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in the town last weekend.

The incident occurred in the Three Bullet Gate area at around 2.30 p.m. on Friday. A man is believed to have suffered facial injuries and was brought to hospital for treatment.

An appeal has been made for information from anyone who may have been in the vicinity around that time.
