New Ross women, Tracey Bridges, er daughter, Stephanie Reddy, and Nicola Furlong are featured in the latest edition of the international, Irish Fashion & Glamour Magazine
THREE WOMAN from the New Ross area have been featured in the latest edition of an international fashion magazine alongside international supermodel, Naomi Campbell.
Irish Fashion & Glamour Magazine is published by a German group and focusses attention on and lifestyle and promotes Irish artists and models.
Tracey Bridges, her daughter, Stephanie Reddy, and best friend, Nicola Furlong, did a photo shoot with the magazine’s photographer and were chosen by the owners of the publication, from many other models, to be featured in the latest edition.
Commenting on their inclusion Tracey said the women were all “thrilled” to be selected.
The fact they were included out of a large number of other potential models made their selection all the more noteworthy.
The three women are also set to grace the catwalk of a major fundraising event for suicide awareness in Waterford at the end of this month which, Tracey said, will be significant for her personally as it will be first time she will have modelled alongside her daughter.
“The fashion show is a charity event to raise awareness for suicide prevention and depression which unfortunately every family has experienced in one way or another,” said Tracey.
It will take place in the Tower Hotel and tickets are available from the models or at the door on the night.
While her modelling, to-date, has been part-time Tracey said it’s something she is very passionate about.
“I first got into modelling when a friend, who is a curvy model, encouraged me and I had a casting day with Upfront Modelling agency in cork and received a years contract,” she said.
“I then was signed with Vplus models and had the pleasure to work with Vicky Mooney,” she added.
In the interim she has done calendar shoots, magazines shoots and fashion shows.
“My motto is beauty comes from within and you’re never fully dressed without a smile,” she said.
“I am very lucky to have the support of my husband, Leigh, in my modelling adventure, and myself Nicola and Stephanie as a trio have a few things in the pipe line,” she said.
Stephanie is training to be a personnel trainer and like her mum is modelling part-time.
“I have done calendar shoots ,magazine shoots, and many photo shoots with various photographers and I am proud to be chosen as a model for this event,” she said.
She also said she’s looking forward to getting to model beside her mother for the first time.
Nicola Furlong, who is a mother-of-four, said she never thought she would be a model when she was younger: “However, at a tough time of my life my friend persuaded me to enter the ‘Simply Be’ competition and I came through in the top 300 out of 4000.”
That gave her the confidence to enter more competitions which proved successful.
“I was Miss July for a calendar and then I entered the Tempted comp run by the lovely Rosemary Kearns, in which I came top 15 and I have done several fashion shows in Dublin for Tempted since,” she said.
“My confidence has grown and I entered face of Miss Curvy Cork which I was shocked to win and this year I was one if the finalists for Top Model Ireland which was an amazing experience,” she added.
The Echo can also reveal that Nicola, who models for Mary Elizabeth’s boutique in Enniscorthy, has been asked to model at a major international event in October for Irish soccer legend, Packie Bonner, and former Italian striker, ‘Toto’ Schillaci.
While the three women are now focussing their attention on the Waterford, Tracey and Nicola will also be launching a blog this month called ‘Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful’.
