Lively activity on the Moneygarrow Road, at a waste distribution centre at Killowen, near Inch, on Monday resulted as Wexford County Council officials “conducted a significant environmental waste enforcement operation at an unauthorised waste site.”
The large scale operation was attended by An Garda Siochana and a number of other agents and took a day to complete the enforcement action.
Using powers available under the Waste Management Acts, the Council conducted the operation “to limit environmental pollution occurring at the site.”
The operation included the removal of unauthorised equipment and followed months of investigating and monitoring by Wexford County Council at the unauthorised site.
