SUCCESS BLOOMED for local participants at Ireland’s largest garden festival recently, with the County Wexford Garden & Flower Club awarded ‘Best in Show’ on the year of their fiftieth anniversary.
A postcard garden designed and constructed by a small group of club members generated huge interest at Bloom in the Phoenix Park.
As Henry Deacon of Coolaught Gardens explained, outline plans for the old-style Wexford garden had to be formulated, submitted and accepted by the festival organisers before work could commence.
A group from Wexford’s ACCESS 2000 women’s organisation completed the county’s representation in the festival’s postcard garden section.
Months of prepartion, plenty of tea and coffee and some splendid camaraderie and teamwork had gone into their creation.
