Gardaí at Courtown Harbour are investigating a break-in to the Village Coffee Shop at Ballymoney which was first noticed early last Wednesday morning.
Thieves entered through the front door and destroyed a cash register which contained a small amount of money.
The break-in took place sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, when the neighbourhood would be quiet.
Gardaí are continuing their investigation into the crime and are asking anybody who may have observed any suspicious movements in the area to get in touch on 053 9430690 or the Garda Confidential number 1800 666 111.
The shop is a well-known landmark in Ballymoney village.
It had been closed for a number of years, but opened its doors about a year ago as a charity operation run by volunteers and staff from the nearby Camphill Community, who care for people with disabilities.
