‘Brooklyn’ will be screened in Gorey cinema ahead of the pre-release date.

Movies@‘Gorey will host a charity screening of the new ‘Brooklyn’ film, which is based on a novel by world renowned Enniscorthy author, Colm Tóibín, in aid of St. Aidan’s Services on Thursday, November 5, the day before the official release date.

“We know that huge numbers will want to see this new release, and we are delighted to offer locals the opportunity to support St. Aidan’s at the same time”, said Pat McCarthy, Chairman, St. Aidan’s Services, who also thanked Gorey Cinema for hosting this event.

The event will commence with a drinks reception, then a guest speaker who will speak about the book, and then the film – which is just under two hours – will be shown.

Tickets will cost €20 and all profits go to St. Aidan’s.

The film, which is widely tipped for Oscars, was shot in Enniscorthy, is an adaptation of Colm Tóibín‘s multi-award winning novel of the same name,
