THREE YOUNG Wexford men who have been living and working in Australia for the last number of years are facing criminal prosecutions in Perth for a number of charges including attempted possession of drugs for the purpose of sale or supply.

The Echo has learned that Roddy Frayne, Liam Driscoll and Brian Foley, all from Wexford town, have appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court in relation to drug charges. The men are in their early 20s and come from well-known local families.

Frayne appeared before the court on September 25 where his case was adjourned until October 29 for mention. He had been remanded in custody and is facing three charges: one for possession of a prohibited drug; one for stealing; and one for conspiring to possess a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.

Driscoll has already pleaded guilty to one count of attempted possession of drugs with intent to sell or supply (cocaine) at the Perth Magistrates Court. He was committed to appear at the District Court on November 20 on the Sentence Mention List.

He will also appear at Perth Magistrates Court on October 12 for mention in relation to one count of conspiracy to possess a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.

He will further appear for mention on November 3 for no authority to drive – suspended, and will finally appear on November 23 for charges including: possession of a prohibited drug; no authority to drive – suspended; and possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

Foley was also charged with attempted possession for the purpose of sale or supply. All three men are in custody.
