THE NEW Ross Song Club will take place in Bolg Bui, on Mary Street, this coming Friday night at 9 p.m.

The club is aimed at promoting local songwriters from across Co. Wexford. The event, which has been gathering momentum over the last couple of months, takes place on the last Friday of the month.

The aim of the club is to provide solo performers and bands, who write their own original material, with a platform to showcase their work before an appreciative audience. The venue also provides a very welcoming and intimate setting which is ideal for the singer-songwriter genre.

While there is a PA in place the main aim of the night is for musicians to perform acoustically with bands encouraged to use acoustic guitars and percussion instruments rather than full kits.

Anyone wishing to perform a slot is asked to bring along their own acoustic instruments  where possible.

Anyone interested in doing a slot either this coming Friday night or on future dates is asked to contact Brendan Keane at [email protected] or call into Bolg Bui and talk to Tina.
