Mexican food lovers in the rebel county will be excited to hear the news that the popular burrito bar Boojum is coming to Cork.

The award winning restaurant has already opened stores in Belfast, Dublin and Galway and now Cork is being added to the list.

The new restaurant, which is expected to open in January, is to be located on Winthrop Street and will have two floors.

Keeping the store running, owners of the brand, David and Andrew Maxwell, will be recruiting at least 30 people and they hope to find their new staff locally.

David said: “We will be running a recruitment drive in the next few weeks to staff the store, bringing upwards of 30 new jobs to the city.”

Andrew added: ““Exceptional food and customer service are at the heart of what we do,”

Looking forward to opening in Cork, David said: “We are complete burrito addicts and genuinely love what we do. We can’t wait to get stuck in and meet our new neighbours. The city is buzzing and we hope we can add something special to Cork”.
